Added an animated overlay shown at the end of each workout before revealing stats. Displays a badge with confetti, a motivational message, and auto-dismisses after 3.5s (or on tap). The message adapts based on the user's efficiency score:
< 20% efficiency โ "Good job / You Showed Up" โ encourages consistency over perfection
20โ89% efficiency โ "Well done / Crushed It" โ acknowledges a solid effort
โฅ 90% efficiency โ "Well done / Legendary Session" โ recognizes near-perfect performance
Includes a progress bar at the bottom indicating time until auto-dismiss. Fully translated across all supported languages.

The accelerometer setup step now shows a laptop-specific instructional video on desktop devices instead of the phone video. Mobile devices continue to see the original phone video. Both the preloader and the orientation section detect the device type and load the correct asset.

This release focuses on polish: more consistent rest screen video behavior and a small but important Hebrew localization fix.
Rest Screen Video Rendering Fix
Weโve resolved an issue where rest screen videos could appear with incorrect or inconsistent sizing between rest and active exercise states. Videos now render with consistent layout and proportions across all relevant screens, improving visual clarity and reducing distractions during workouts.
Hebrew Translation Correction
This release includes a minor correction of phrases in Hebrew in camera access page.
RTL Fix Workout Session Replay
We fixed the improper right to left direction of the progress bar and navigation buttons in right to left languages

KinesteX v2.17.1 gives you tighter control during workouts, more reliable gait testing on mobile, and smoother UI behavior across sessions and languages.
A new preventGestureControl configuration option is now available. When enabled, gesture-based interactions (such as pause/resume via hand gestures) are disabled during workouts. This is useful for scenarios where gesture detection may interfere with the user experience or when gesture controls are not desired.
Usage: Pass preventGestureControl: true in your customParams configuration to disable gesture-based controls.
The Gait Speed Test now dynamically adjusts its start and target detection zones for mobile (portrait) viewports. On narrower screens, zone detection is more forgiving โ requiring a percentage of visible body landmarks to be in the zone rather than all of them. This results in significantly more reliable test results on phones and tablets.
Slightly increased the delay before auto-pause triggers when a user temporarily moves out of frame, reducing false pauses during active workouts.
Resolved minor modal positioning inconsistencies across several embedded UI dialogs in right to left languages (cookies consent, settings, onboarding, leaderboard filters, and exit confirmation).

This release makes KinesteX smarter and more reliable where it matters most: more accurate calorie tracking, a more powerful AI model system for motion analysis, and a smoother Timed Up and Go (TUG) assessment experience on mobile.
Calorie calculations now use MET (Metabolic Equivalent of Task) values that are tightly linked to each exercise sequence. This delivers more accurate and scientifically grounded calorie estimates for both rep-based and timer-based exercises.
We also separate active exercise time from idle time (user in frame but not exercising). Idle time is tracked at a baseline metabolic rate, so total calories now better reflect actual effort instead of just session duration.
Enhanced AI Model System
The new AI model system is now fully supported and rolling out across more exercises. This architecture enables:
Faster delivery and updates of exercise models
Support for enhanced configurations with custom landmark and angle setups
As more exercises migrate to this system, you can expect more precise motion analysis and more consistent feedback across supported content.
TUG Assessment โ Better on Mobile
The Timed Up and Go (TUG) assessment has been refined for mobile portrait viewports:
Start and target zones automatically widen on narrow screens for more forgiving alignment
Landmark detection now uses percentage-based validation (for example, 5 out of 7 landmarks in a zone) instead of requiring a perfect match
These changes significantly reduce false negatives on phones and make TUG assessments more reliable in real-world mobile use.

This release refines the body alignment experience on desktop, clarifies localization across devices, and adds a new control to better utilize camera space during workouts.
Weโve improved the layout and visuals of the body alignment screen on desktop mode, making it easier to position yourself correctly before starting a workout.

We updated copy that previously referred only to โphoneโ so it now uses the more general term โdevice,โ reflecting that many users access KinesteX from desktop as well. For example, if camera access is blocked, we now instruct users to go to their device settings to grant camera permissions.
You can now enable a new zoomโout behavior via โ`customParams`:
videoFit: "contain"With this setting, instead of zooming in to fill the entire area by default, the camera feed will show the full frame as provided by the camera, allowing you to use all available space for motion tracking.

This update introduces equipment interface that will be appearing for some workouts that require equipment use, updated return fields for assessments, updated hebrew translations, and initial steps for a new foundational motion analysis system
You can now control in admin dashboard equipment requirements for each workout

In the assessments stats, we now send updated data fields with assessment_overview, assessment_completed, and newly added assessment_restart events
The data fields response format matches what is documented in our website, previously all data fields from all assessments would be shared as a single blob, however, now only related data fields are shared for each specific assessment.
We also added a new event assessment_restart which will be sent when a person clicks on restart assessment button in the stats screen.

Challenges now automatically collect workout rep progress after each workout completion. Making results public on the leaderboard still requires user action: users must enter their username and tap Submit at the end of the workout for their results to appear in the leaderboard.
Previously, daily progress was only saved when users submitted their results to the leaderboard, which caused confusion if they forgot to do so and didnโt see their daily progress update. This change removes that confusion by saving daily progress automatically while keeping leaderboard submission as an explicit user choice.

KinesteX v2.15.0 introduces a new singleโleg balance assessment with realโtime form feedback, detailed stability analytics, and improved desktop layouts for all assessments.
Weโve added a new singleโleg balance test to measure usersโ stability and control.
What users do
Place hands on hips
Lift the left leg until the toe circle appears above the horizontal line
Maintain balance, keeping the white circle inside the target zone for 20 seconds
Switch to the right leg and repeat
What users get
Balance score (0โ100) with a colorโcoded bar from red to green
Time held per leg with performance categories: Poor, Fair, Average, Good, Great
Sway metrics for each leg: average and maximum sway in centimeters
Stability rating: Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor
Personalized recommendations based on performance and left/right asymmetry
Real-time feedback
Visual target circle indicating whether balance is inside the acceptable zone
Hand position validation (โKeep your hands on your hipsโ)
Wrongโleg detection
Automatic leg switching with clear guidance
UI Improvements
All assessments now adapt better to desktop layouts, automatically shifting to make optimal use of screen space
Fixed an issue where the orientation hint could be covered in the phone orientation screen on some browsers

This update fixes several issues to make workouts smoother and more reliable.
โข Workouts no longer get stuck when you move back and forth between multiple workouts in a plan.
โข Workout and workout plan categories and levels now show correctly in all supported languages.
โข The app now correctly skips the camera access screen when camera permission is not required (shouldAskCamera: false) flag in customParams
โข The workout score tooltip in Statistics no longer covers the whole screen.
